Revved-up and ready to go, '96 Honda takes off out of the gate to bring an atmospheric and earnest vibe of whipping through the streets of The Bronx (Rio Azul's hometown) with the windows down and speaker volume on blast. Following up his debut project in 2013 titled 'Postcard', '96 Honda' is darker, grittier and comes with an upgrade of confidence and assurance. Rio's eccentric yet eclectic collection or rhyme styles bobs and weaves through this 9Lights produced maze. From the enigmatic opening track ('96 Honda) to a triumphant closer (Honeymoon), Rio takes you through a journey with him figuratively in his 1996 Honda Accord (his car shown on the cover) and literally through the vivid imagery painted on every track. From the smoked out vibes of 'Outta My Mind' to the circa '94, cutthroat sounds of 'Crescendo', the different tracks bring new flavors to the mix, akin to switching channels on a car radio. With the focus on being around for a long time to come, Rio Azul's goal is to get you on board and along for the ride, but into the future of his music as he prophecizes as well.
