about

In the midst of these strange times we live in today, Rio Azul comes through to deliver a short EP touching on personal and political matters, as well as a reminder to have ourselves some fun every now and again. The opening track 'RA' sees Rio lining himself up with two icons in the legendary West Coast rapper Snoop Dogg and the Marvel Avenger Tony Stark, pointing out that all geniuses don't live a perfect life, yet are worth the investment if given the time. This bold and candid exclamation of self sets the tone for the approximately 18 minute long EP. Whether it's Rio's feelings on the current state of America through some cryptic lines in 'Slave(s)/Neva Dat' or the bombastic rebellion in his voice on the hook of 'Can't Tell Me', Rio adamantly wants to show and prove that he's here for the long run. With lyrics containing relatable substance and quirky word play to suit, 'The Rio Azul EP' is sure to be an appetizer for what's soon to come from Rio Azul in the future.
